Gravel for river infill
During October and November 2021, MCM assisted Ecosulis with the supply of 360 tonnes of 20/40mm river washed gravel to help back fill behind the created revetment and retaining wall. This would act as river infill to improve fish passage along the Kingshurst Brook for the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust.
Multiple deliveries to brookside
Supplying 40 tonnes a day over a 9 day period in 8 wheel loads, the gravels were then placed by 14 tonne standard excavator and a 15 tonne Long Reach to the final location in the brook.
In addition to this Ecosulis installed 300 metres of brashwood faggots and chestnut posts, undertook reedbed management works, installed 5 deflectors and 6 loads of woody debris, all to aid the future capture of silt and the continued narrowing of the brook.
