Nationwide Delivery – Soils, Aggregates & Construction Waste Management
Since May 2025, the MCM team has been regularly circulating to and from a site in Southwark on behalf of a well-established contractor partnership. Part of the larger Elephant and Castle regeneration, the main contractor has been installing 450mm heating pipes in a complex and challenging space for the district’s heating network.
Alongside, MCM have also had to contend with the limited access and strict regulations, removing construction waste including concrete, soils and tarmac. Once cleared, MCM has returned with recycled soils, aggregates, and sands to enable the bedding of newly laid pipes and backfilling of the trenches. This has helped contribute to the contractor’s net-zero ambitions for sustainable infrastructure across the regeneration scheme.
Being able to work with MCM on waste removal as well as the supply of recycled and new construction materials, the contractor could also take advantage of access to our network of readymix concrete suppliers. The supplies of concrete mixes (C20 and C40) were arranged swiftly, as scheduled to fit in with the overall programme and delivery windows.
Japanese Knotweed was found on a neighbouring site within the same project. Confirmed using our rapid testing service, the site team were able to begin its removal safely within just 24 hours, completing its safe clearance within just 1 week. Traditional testing could have meant pushing the programme back by at least 2 weeks before removal could even begin.
